Life as we know it

Quick recap of what's been going on with the Bodell clan:

1. We've moved! We bought a house in South Jordan and have officially moved in, thanks to the help from our many friends and family. I need to take pictures of the house and post them!

2. We enjoyed having Thanksgiving at our new house with Brian's family. It was great having everyone together. It doesn't happen too often. We also took family pictures with everyone. Those will hopefully be coming soon as well.

3. Dace has learned how to roll over, and try's to roll across the room. Unfortunately, he rarely rolls the opposite direction and will get stuck. This also means, we find him stuck in his crib almost nightly, because he rolls to his stomach and sticks his legs and arms through the slats.

4. My dad had back surgery and seems to be doing very well. My favorite conversation with him while he was drugged up involved the following: Me- "What kind of drugs are you on?" Dad- "The Michael Jackson kind... I know it's not Cocaine though." It made me giggle.

5. Dace laughs hysterically any time I say "Boogers" and "Chihuahua." I never knew those words were so funny until he came along. He also hates the Mario underwater song except for the bubbles part. He has the cutest pouty lip EVER! It's funny to see him go from sad to smiley to sad again, and then to laughing when I say Boogers in the middle of the song. Videos of those coming soon as well.

For those of you that check to see if I've posted on a regular basis (*Cough*Heather*Cough*) sorry it took me so long to update. I'm going to work on being better about it again. Hopefully now that our house is getting to feel like home I'll be able to get on the internet for more than deleting emails. And because I can't leave you without a picture, here's one that my Auntie took of my little Daceroni.

Scared by WazUp

I don't think Dace likes it when I say WazUp to him.

October

We've had a busy month here at the Bodell home. We are buying a house and are very excited!!! Our apartment is a disaster because we have so many boxes packed and stacked everywhere. We can't wait to move in and have our very own place! I will make sure to post pictures of our house the first chance I get.

Dace is growing very fast. He loves to give kisses and cuddle. He also loves to talk, and talk, and talk. He even talks while he's eating. He's such a happy baby and I love spending time with him. Both Brian and I are so blessed to have him in our lives!
LinkHe hasn't decided if he likes hats yet, but we think he looks so cute in them!

I came in to find my two boys taking a nap together. They look so peaceful.
Dace loves to look at himself in his mirror.

I love being a mother and I know Brian loves being a father! Who wouldn't with such a cutie!

October Treats

Happy October!

It's my favorite month! And to celebrate, here are some pictures of my little man! I loved these pictures of my Dad with Dace. He's so excited to be a Grandpa!
I found Brian and Dace napping. Dace loves to snuggle and bury his face whenever he can.

Dace loves his Grandma!

He looks so cute in his beanie!

Paca Bodell and Dace took lots of naps together while they were here in early September. He's so lucky to have such great grandparents on both sides of the family.

I don't think he's quite figured out his Aunt's yet, but he enjoys all of the attention they give him

Happy Boy!

I've learned how to smile!

Making Faces

I love making faces at Dace. Sometimes he makes them too. Whether they are on purpose or not, I don't know. But I love it anyways. Here are some recent pictures of Baby Vader. I'm sure thats what you all wanted.

5 Generations

Some people never know their grandparents. I am lucky enough to know my Great-Grandma. That means Dace knows his Great-Great-Grandma. I have such a fantastic family and was able to marry into one just as amazing! From left to right: Mommy (Me), Grandpa (Scott), Great-Grandma (Jean), Dace, and Great-Great-Grandma (Inez)
My little man in his blessing outfit. Doesn't he look so handsome?

Mom Bag

Day 25: What's in your purse? Um... A lot! In fact, it's been lovingly nicknamed my Mom Bag! I love my Yankee Purse. My husband does not, but still hangs out with me when I carry it.

Here's a sampling of what's in it. My wallet (of course!), Coupons (need to clean the expired ones out), Toothbrush (with toothpaste inside), a Car Charger for my phone, Pretzels, M&M's (inside an Oreo container), Sunglasses, Headphones (for my iPod I usually forget to bring along), Hand Sanitizer, Costco Card (yes, it should be in my wallet, but it's just floating), Real Salt Lake Tickets (to the Seattle Sounders game in 2009), Chap stick, and a gazillion other things.

You Are My Sunshine

Cutest Kid Ever? I think so.

And to think, he came into our lives just 4 weeks ago! It's amazing how fast time flies. Thank you, Dace, for falling asleep in a position in my arms that leaves my hands free to type this. I love you little man!

Best Moment from 2010 Season

As Promised, here was my favorite moment fro the 2010 season. We had sat thru 3 quarters of bitter cold and terrible play. We were rewarded with an amazing TD catch and this block in the 4th quarter to win it for us. Being there in person makes it that much more meaningful (only because my voice still hasn't come back all the way) and will be one of the stories I share with Dace when he starts going to the games with us. I hope you have all cleared your schedules for this weekend and sit down to enjoy some games. If your thinking you are gonna wait till Saturday to watch any games, I would like to remind you TCU takes on Baylor Friday night in what is sure to be one of the better games of the weekend. So enjoy your weekend and know that I am.

Tonight's Game

Here is a little promo spot for tonight's game, and in case you couldn't tell, I am a little excited it is college football Season!

Its the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

In case you haven't heard, college football gets underway tomorrow! And the University of Utah gets to help lead the way by kicking off their season with a game against Montana State tomorrow night at 6:00pm MST at Rice-Eccles Stadium. And as a season ticket holder, your truely will be in the crowd cheering on the Utes (special thanks to my wife who allows me to get season tickets year after year, and will even have to put up with our little man alone during the games this year!) But to help get you amped for the 4+ greatest months of the year (college football season, sorry Halloween and Christmas) here is a video of the 10 greatest plays for Utah football last season.

And tune in tomorrow to find out my personal favorite play from last year (hint, its in these top 10). Enjoy

More than Words

Day 24: A photo of something that means a lot to you. Eternity. This means more to me than I could ever tell you. It's also kind of a hard one to pick a picture for. I chose this one of Brian and I in front of the Mount Timpanogos Temple because this is where we were given the opportunity to have eternity with each other and with our son, Dace. How lucky are we? I am so glad to be a part of an eternal family and have the chance to have my own! I just hope my boys can put up with me for that long.

Fact? Or Fiction?

Day 23: 15 facts about you.

15: One of my all time favorite foods is mashed potatoes. Especially if they are made of the red variety.
14: I read text books in high school. For fun.
13: I love any outdoor sport! I repel, hike, camp, kayak, backpack, climb, run, and swim. Not necessarily at the same time though.
12: I didn't learn cursive until after high school.
11: I'm allergic to ice cream, but eat it anyways.
10: I worked at scout camp for three years, and loved it.
9: My favorite color has been orange since I was little.
8: I punched the same kid twice in elementary. Once for kissing me in 1st grade, and the second for picking on my brother in 6th grade. Both times felt great.
7: I have a gazillion best friends, but only one bestest friend. Who? My husband!
6: I like to cook, but love it when my husband does! He's so much better than me!
5: Growing up, I never really knew what I wanted to be. There were just too many choices!Turns out, being a Mom means that I get to be everything!
4: I collect Barbies and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
3: I have two favorite places to be. Disneyland and Columbia Falls, Montana.
2: I've fallen out of a second story window, had Russian Roulette done to me, been in a car accident that sent me to the hospital, and had a million other close death calls, and they've only made me appreciate life even more.
1: The greatest thing to ever happen to me, is that I became a wife and a mother. Thank you Dace and Brian, for making that happen!

Dear Dace

Day 22: A letter to someone important to you. First, a little plug for my Auntie! Growing up, I always felt like I had two Mom's. My own mother, and her twin sister, Natha. She's an amazing photographer. She took our wedding pictures and she was so nice to take pictures of Dace. Dace loves her and has even initiated her by pooping on her. (Eww! Sorry Natha!) But the above picture is one that she took, and I love it.

Now, A letter to someone important to you. Originally this was supposed to be a letter to someone who's hurt you recently. Um, Emo much? So I changed it. I would much rather write a letter to someone I love. I love a lot of people. Dace being one of the most recent ones, but one of the ones I love the most! He's tied with his Daddy. Somehow I got really lucky to have two of the most amazing boys in my life! Dace, this is for you.

Dear Dace,
I've loved you since the moment I knew you were coming into our family. I imagined who you would look like. Would you have my hair? My eyes? Would you have Daddy's nose or lips? Who would you laugh like? There was so many questions that I wanted to know! There were scary moments when I thought we couldn't make it to 40 weeks, but you surprised me and went 41. It terrified me in the hospital as I watched your heart rate drop and they told me I had a fever that could effect you. Would I even get to meet you? But the moment you came into this world, screaming your lungs out, I knew you were going to be okay. Anyone who objected that much to change was just as stubborn as his parents and would not give up without a fight. You had a fever and your heart was racing. The doctors wanted to rush you away to make sure you were okay, but one nurse dropped you into my arms and within minutes, your heart rate had slowed down and your fever was gone. I looked into your eyes and realised, I was a Mommy. I couldn't take my eyes from you. (I still can't!) Daddy has the same problem. It was weird to think that we were no longer a couple, but a family. I loved that you just stared back at us with your eyes wide open.

You've made Mommy and Daddy so happy! Over the past two weeks, you have changed our lives for the better. You've blessed us in so many ways! I never thought I would love someone so much! You are so amazingly perfect! What did I do to deserve such an amazing little spirit in my life? I love everything about you! I love that you hate formula, and the face you make every time we try to feed it to you. I love that you sleep like your Daddy and kick the blankets off your feet. I love it when you bury your face in my arms and just want to cuddle with me. I love that you will pull back when I'm holding you, just to look at me. I love when you and Daddy give Eskimo kisses. I love how peaceful you look when you fall asleep on Daddy's chest. I love that Daddy falls asleep too. I love that when you have a blow out, you just look at us and seem to ask "What did I do?" I love that it doesn't faze you when we laugh. I love that you mimic me and stick your tongue out. I love that I can sing silly camp songs to you, and you seem to enjoy it. I love that you try and eat Daddy's nose. I love that you are so awake and alert. I love that you know both mine and Daddy's voices. I love that you hate it when I call your Daceroni. I love how precious you are and that God saw us fit enough to be your parents. I hope I can live up to his expectations.

Dace, I just want you to know how much you mean to us. We will always be there for you, to guide you and protect you. I hope that you will grow to love the Lord as much as we do. After all, he's the one that loaned you to us. I am so glad he did and that we have the opportunity to be together with you for eternity. Always know that is our goal. I love you so much my little Daceroni.
Love, Mommy

Almost Here!

As I have been off work and enjoying the company of my wife and son, I have watched the days fly by (it seems to do that when you don't have to clock in for 2 weeks). However today I did noticed how close we are to college football! In fact, in a week I will be at Rice-Eccles watching Utah beat up on Montana State (I know, tough game right, but as a member of an elite conference, your aloud to have cupcakes that first week). the countdown in face is 7 days, 2 hours, 41 minutes, 23 seconds....22 seconds....21 seconds....you get the picture. And here is a picture of yet another Utah die-hard ready for football to begin, hope you enjoy and thanks to Natha for the picture.

If you're happy and you know it

Day 21: A photo of something that makes you happy.

How could this not make you happy? I love these boys with all my heart!
