"Your Only a Day Away!"

As the cast of Les Miserable proudly exclaims before intermission, "One day More!" Tomorrow marks the start of the 2012 College Football Season. And as all the D1 Utah college teams are in action tomorrow (and all at home), there is a collective excitement in the air around the state. Though I am ready to see that BYU vs WSU game tomorrow night (just to see if Mike Leech will make WSU a program worth playing again), I cannot help but get excited about the start of Utah Football. And here is some motivation for you if you need it too. So as Annie would say, or sing to be more correct, "Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I love ya, Tomorrow. Your only a day away."

Smash the Cake

We did a smash the cake session with Dace for his first birthday.

He sat so patiently. He waited until we sat him on the ground to even go for the cake.

Dace only wanted to poke it at first.

He loved picking the sprinkles off.

It quickly turned into this....

He couldn't get enough!

He was so happy!

Happy Birthday to my big 1 year old!

Did I mention he cleaned up after himself?

Birthday Boy!

We know this is a few weeks late, but Dace celebrated his 1st birthday on the 12th of August. Hard to believe our little man is already one.

The tie mommy made for him.

Birthday Breakfast....Waffles!

Mommy did a good job on decor

Birthday Boy ready for church...

That is, after he conquers the seven seas!

"Can I open those gifts now?"

Brooke was a big help as Dace grew tired of it before finishing gift one.

Again, great job by mommy with decor

One week away!

We now find ourselves just one week away from the return of College Football. More importantly, Utah Utes Football. I know I am gonna be trying to find ways to make it through the week so here is a video to help hold us over till the 30th.

23 Days and Counting!

Its that most wonderful time of the year again. We will celebrating  Dace's First Birthday this upcoming Sunday, but then after that, my attention will turn to August 30th, and the kickoff of college football. The state of Utah will be busy that night, with BYU taking on WSU and USU playing Southern Utah. However the one I am most excited for of course is U of U hosting Northern Colorado, which will kick off three straight weeks of games we will attend (Only to be beat out by the 4 straight weeks of games we will attend between 10/27 and 11/17). So clear up room on the DVR, cause we are only 3 and a half weeks away!

Washington Part2

We had such an amazing trip! Thanks to Brian's parents for letting us make a disaster out of your living room and for putting up with late night freak outs. They were champs. Dace did fantastic for never having been in a car for longer than 45 minutes and Brian managed to drive through the night, not once, but twice and even let me take little cat naps along the way. I'm so glad we got to spend time together as our little family and watch Dace experience things for the first time. I love watching him grow, even though it is happening way too fast. He's such a little boy and no longer a baby. He has a unique personality and he lights up anytime there is something new to try. These are the moments that I never want to forget.
Our little family down by the ocean.

It totally looks like Dace has a bald spot, but this picture shows how fascinated he is when it comes to watching any kind of fish!

Dace grabbed the bird... That's right, he GRABBED THE BIRD! I can't believe I got the picture. I had no problem getting the bird the jump on my hand and Dace got way into it!

Trying some of Paca's mint ice cream. A couple weeks before his first birthday, but oh well.

Brian playing with the otters.

Polar bears are my favorite. I was so excited to see them!

Dace playing in a giant birds nest. He loved it!

This boy makes friends wherever he goes!

Paca and Grandmas TV is right at his level. Guess who couldn't keep his hands off of it?

We went to the Pacific Science Center. Dace had a lot of fun exploring.

The moment we walked in to the dinosaur room, Dace started pointing and talking to us. He kept trying to turn around to look at everything he could. I had no idea he like dinosaurs so much!

Another car makes for a happy little boy!

Butterflies were everywhere in the butterfly room! Dace kept trying to grab them. We really had to watch him.

He loved touching the rock!

We had to drag him away!

The Seattle Space Needle.

Dace finally trying to look up at it.

Pikes Place. Love the atmosphere here!
