From August to December... We've been busy!

Well, we've started a new year and I haven't even caught up on blogging about last year, so here is yet another catch up post. The Bodell family has had a very busy year, but we have had a lot of fun.

Dace has a new love of hats. He wears them all the time! He loves wearing Daddy's hats the most!

We discovered Dace has an allergy to tomatoes. Just like his Mommy!

Dace has tried to climb out of his play tent the wrong way. He always gets stuck.

Love this little kid and all his "hats!"

We got to meet the firemen and and see a firetruck at Emergency Essentials. Dace absolutely loved it, even though his face says otherwise in this picture.

Dace got sick a couple of times and we would just make him a "bed" in the living room.

We went to a Halloween Fest and Dace got his face painted for the first time. The glitter was a pain, but it was a lot of fun!

Dace got a hold of Grandpa's Cowboy hat!

Know what this kid was for Halloween?

Yup, Yoda!

Mommy as Leia, Dace as Yoda, and Mary and Shirley as pirates!

Dace got to meet the "Be Ready Utah" Bee at Emergency Essentials. He enjoyed chasing the bee, but I don't know how the bee felt about it!

First time playing in the snow. Thank you Brooke Browne for lending us your snow stuff!

Hanging out with Mommy and Aunt Erin in the snow!

Kissing Sandwich!

His three favorite things: A Hat, Chocolate, and the Remote!

Dace loves his swing! Thank your Grandma Echols!

This kid loves to clean. Especially when he's wearing Mommy's slippers!

An elf named Snowflake joined us this year. Dace was always so delighted to find her each morning. Though he doesn't understand that we don't touch her....
Well, there's a brief catch up post. I hope to have a few more here in the next week or so. I hope you are all doing well. We love you all and I hope we get to see at least some of our family and friends who live far away sometime this year! Love, Jen

End of Utah football season, now onto the Holidays!

Well, the football season didn't go to well, but it was still fun to attend 8 games this year. Our road trip to Seattle for the Washington game was a blast and no matter how it all ended, I love Utah football and look forward to next season! (Since we will be having 7 home games year) We are now moving into the Holiday Season and enjoying watching Dace really take it all in. He is a bit more active this year and look forward to enjoying the tradition we already have and starting new ones. Another reason to get excited for the season is the release of Les Miserable in theaters this Christmas Day. This is one of Jennifer's and I favorite musicals and we are both very excited to see this. It looks amazing from the previews and we hope it lives up to that. Here is the most recent preview so you can get excited too.

"Your Only a Day Away!"

As the cast of Les Miserable proudly exclaims before intermission, "One day More!" Tomorrow marks the start of the 2012 College Football Season. And as all the D1 Utah college teams are in action tomorrow (and all at home), there is a collective excitement in the air around the state. Though I am ready to see that BYU vs WSU game tomorrow night (just to see if Mike Leech will make WSU a program worth playing again), I cannot help but get excited about the start of Utah Football. And here is some motivation for you if you need it too. So as Annie would say, or sing to be more correct, "Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I love ya, Tomorrow. Your only a day away."

Smash the Cake

We did a smash the cake session with Dace for his first birthday.

He sat so patiently. He waited until we sat him on the ground to even go for the cake.

Dace only wanted to poke it at first.

He loved picking the sprinkles off.

It quickly turned into this....

He couldn't get enough!

He was so happy!

Happy Birthday to my big 1 year old!

Did I mention he cleaned up after himself?

Birthday Boy!

We know this is a few weeks late, but Dace celebrated his 1st birthday on the 12th of August. Hard to believe our little man is already one.

"Ready to Get this Party started"

The tie mommy made for him.

Birthday Breakfast....Waffles!

Mommy did a good job on decor

Birthday Boy ready for church...

That is, after he conquers the seven seas!

"Can I open those gifts now?"

Brooke was a big help as Dace grew tired of it before finishing gift one.

Again, great job by mommy with decor
